Republic Day celebrations will now begin from January 23 to incorporate Netaji’s delivery anniversary

Government sources instructed the Indian Express on Saturday that the Republic Day celebrations would begin yearly from January 23 as an alternative of January 24, which would come with the delivery anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

“This is in line with the Modi government’s focus on celebrating/recalling important aspects of our history and culture,” the sources mentioned.

The four-day competition begins on January 24 and ends with the Beating Retreat ceremony on January 29.

The Narendra Modi-led authorities had earlier introduced that Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s delivery anniversary could be celebrated Mighty Day.

Netaji was some of the outstanding figures within the Indian freedom battle. He was born on January 23, 1897 in Cuttack, Odisha.
