Pablo Andujar had a second-round assembly with Roger Federer on the Geneva Open, defeating Jordan Thompson 6–0, 6–4.

Federer will face the Seventy fifth-ranked Andujar on Tuesday night in Geneva, the place it has been raining repeatedly for a number of days and is predicted to final for the weekend.

It might be Federer’s first match at Clay in practically two years, after dropping within the semifinals to Rafael Nadal on the 2019 French Open.

Federer is prime seeded for the Geneva Open, his second match within the final 15 months after two surgical procedures to his proper knee. He misplaced his second match on the Doha Open in Qatar in March.

“When you come back from injury, you’re in a different place than everyone else,” the 39-year-old Federer mentioned on Monday.

“I am excited about the comeback and will not focus on being on the same level as Rafa (Nadal) or Novak (Djokovic) right now.”

In Federer’s half-tournament draw, 67th-ranked American tennis Sandgren gained 6-3, 6-4 towards Salvatore Caruso.

In the other half, eighth seed Adrian Mannarino was overwhelmed by fellow Frenchman Arthur Cazaux 6-3, 6-7 (5), 6-3.
