Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) chief Rakesh Tikait on Monday met the household of Arun Narwar, who was allegedly killed in police custody in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra, and demanded a compensation of Rs 40 lakh and a authorities job for his kin.

Speaking to reporters after assembly Narwar’s members of the family, Tikait stated, “The state authorities is discriminating in giving compensation. It has given compensation of Rs 40-45 lakh in Lakhimpur Kheri and Kanpur, whereas in Agra the federal government has given compensation of Rs 10 lakh.

“The state authorities also needs to give Rs 40 lakh compensation to Arun’s household. The authorities shouldn’t have discriminated.”

Narwar is accused of stealing Rs 25 lakh from Jagdishpura police station right here and died in police custody on October 19 after his well being deteriorated throughout interrogation, officers stated.
