SC agrees to probe petition looking for to declare National Commission for Minorities Act unconstitutional

The Supreme Court on Thursday agreed to think about a petition looking for to declare the National Commission for Minorities Act and the National Commission for Minorities as unconstitutional.

A bench of Justices SK Kaul and Abhay S Oka advised Attorney General R Venkataramani that it has accepted the petition and connected the matter to an analogous case.

The prime courtroom was listening to a petition filed by NGO Viniyoga Parivar Trust, which mentioned that the state is “under no obligation” to advertise any language, script or tradition of minority communities.

The petition states, “The proactive motion of the State and the enactment of the National Commission for Minorities Act (1992), establishing of the National Commission for Minorities to pay giant sums of cash to minorities, primarily Muslims, has no constitutional mandate and known as it unconstitutional. might be completed,” the petition mentioned.
