SC asks for details about Kovid’s plan for orphaned kids

The Supreme Court on Tuesday took word of the Centre’s welfare scheme to offer reduction to kids who’ve misplaced dad and mom to the COVID-19 pandemic, and sought particulars of the scheme together with the mechanism designed to watch it.

A bench of Justice L Nageswara Rao and Justice Anirudh Bose directed the States and Union Territories (UTs) to nominate nodal officers on the degree of Secretary or Joint Secretary to offer orphans, their identities and all details about them.
