Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Thursday ordered a probe after a video exhibiting bodybuilder Bobby Kataria smoking on a SpiceJet flight surfaced on social media.
The video exhibits Kataria — who has 6.3 lakh followers on Instagram — lighting a cigarette on one of many center rows of a SpiceJet airplane.
Passengers will not be allowed to take lighter within the airplane. Passengers are additionally not allowed to smoke within the airplane.
According to sources, the smoking incident befell on a SpiceJet’s SG706 flight that was coming from Dubai to Delhi.
When the video of this incident was posted on Twitter on Thursday, Scindia responded: “Investigating it. There will be no tolerance towards such hazardous behaviour.” SpiceJet didn’t reply to PTI’s queries on what motion it has taken, or is taking, towards Kataria.
As per the rules of aviation regulator DGCA, an airline has the facility to ban an “unruly” passenger for a sure time frame if she or he violates any guidelines.
