The controversial incident between Australia all-rounder Marcus Stoinis and Pakistan pacer Mohammad Hasnain led to Pakistan icon Shoaib Akhtar on Tuesday terming the Australian’s gesture as “shameful”.
Akhtar mentioned on Twitter, “Shameful gesture by @MStoinis about @MHasnainPak’s bowling action during #TheHunred2022. How dare you talk like that?? Of course @ICC keeps quiet about them. If someone has already Cleared, no player should be allowed to do such things.”
Stoinis courted controversy on Sunday after he accused Hasnain of chucking in the course of the Southern Brave’s seven-wicket loss to the Oval Invincible in ‘The Hundred’.
shameful gesture @MStoinis About the bowling motion of @MHasnainPak throughout #The Hundred2022 , How dare you do such issues?? Undoubted @ICC retains quiet about them.
No participant needs to be allowed to do such issues if one has already been cleared. pic.twitter.com/5idGdBqcUf— Shoaib Akhtar (@shoaib100mph) 16 August 2022
Stoinis (37 off 27 balls), who top-scored for the Southern Braves, succumbed to Mohamed Hasnain after top-aging within the arms of Centurion Will Jack at mid-off.

Making his technique to the pavilion, Stoinis was seen copying Hasnain’s actions.
Earlier this 12 months, Hasnain was discovered responsible of an unlawful bowling motion and suspended from bowling after it was reported by umpire Gerard Abood in a Big Bash League (BBL) match between Sydney Thunder and Adelaide Strikers .
Hasnain underwent a biomechanics check in late January, with findings from the Lahore University of Management Sciences confirming that his motion violated the ICC’s 15-degree restrict for elbow extension. The Pakistani pacer has been declared match to bowl once more after remedial work.
Hasnain has performed eight ODIs and 18 T20 Internationals since making his debut in Pakistan in 2019.
