Sikh taxi driver of Indian origin assaulted at JFK airport, his turban was blown away by unidentified individual

In one other suspected hate crime case, an Indian-origin Sikh taxi driver within the US was attacked by an unidentified man, who took off his turban exterior JFK International Airport in New York and used abusive language towards him. A video on social media.

Navjot Pal Kaur had uploaded an undated 26-second video on Twitter on January 4, which confirmed a person assaulting a Sikh taxi driver exterior the airport. She mentioned that the video was shot by a bystander on the airport.

The individual can reportedly be heard utilizing abusive phrases towards the sufferer. He repeatedly hit and punched her and took off her turban.

“This video was taken by a bystander at John F. Kennedy International Airport. I do not own the rights to this video. But I just wanted to highlight the fact that hatred persists in our society and unfortunately I have seen Sikh cab drivers beaten up time and again,” tweeted Kaur.

There was no additional data out there in regards to the driver or the reason for the incident.

The video precipitated neighborhood members to react angrily.

“No additional details have been released outside of the video, but we know this story very well. A Sikh man goes about his daily life only to be fooled by someone. Common among people Road rage can escalate when someone who is unaware that he despises our turbans and becomes violent,” it mentioned.

This is just not the primary time a Sikh taxi driver has been assaulted within the US.

An Indian-origin Sikh Uber driver was assaulted and racially abused in a suspected hate crime within the US state of Washington in 2019. The driver advised police he believed his race fueled the assault.

In 2017, a 25-year-old Sikh cab driver in New York was assaulted and turbaned by drunken passengers.
