Somalia: Gunmen assault Hyatt Hotel in Mogadishu;  10 killed, say police

At least 10 individuals have been killed in an assault by Islamic militants on a resort within the Somali capital late Friday, police and eyewitnesses mentioned.

“We have been having tea close to the resort foyer once we first heard explosions and gunshots. I was inside the room till the security forces came and rescued me.”

He mentioned on his method to safety he noticed “several bodies lying on the ground outside the hotel reception.”
