South Africa on compassionate go away after Peter van Niekerk dropped from WC squad

The South African girls’s cricket workforce has granted compassionate go away to all-rounder Marijan Kapp after his spouse Dane van Niekerk was dropped from the Women’s Twenty20 World Cup squad.

Hosts South Africa on Tuesday dropped common captain van Niekerk from the squad after the all-rounder failed to fulfill health necessities.

South African coach Hilton Moreng informed the BBC: “The leave was granted so that he could come back ready to play.”

“She needed a break for compassionate leave and it was given to her as we felt we were very happy with her form, as far as her skills are considered.”

Cap won’t play within the ultimate T20 of the tri-series in opposition to India.

“He (Cap) is part of the World Cup, he is committed to the World Cup,” Moreng mentioned.

South Africa will open their marketing campaign in opposition to Sri Lanka on February 10 in Cape Town. The different groups in Group A are New Zealand, Bangladesh and defending champions Australia.
