Atletico Madrid stated अलlvaro Morata suffered an ankle swelling in Saturday’s 3-2 LaLiga defeat in Cadiz, giving the Spain striker simply three weeks to recuperate forward of the World Cup in Qatar.
Morata is Spain’s principal striker and has scored 27 targets in 57 appearances for the 2010 world champions. “Alvaro Morata is suffering from soft tissue edema in his ankle, according to medical tests performed by him on Sunday morning,” Atletico stated in an announcement on Sunday.
“The Spanish international striker was substituted after just 10 minutes in Saturday’s game in Cadiz and will be back in the team due to the development of his restlessness.”
Spain, who’re in Group E within the World Cup together with Germany, Costa Rica and Japan, have but to announce their closing squad for the match. They will start their group marketing campaign in opposition to Costa Rica on 23 November.
