Sports Minister Anurag Thakur on Tuesday stated that his ministry has launched an quantity of Rs 6,801.30 crore beneath numerous sports activities improvement schemes within the final 5 years.

Thakur, who took over as Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports from Kiren Rijiju earlier this yr, stated Rs 7,072.28 was allotted to the ministry.

“During the last five years, an amount of Rs 7,072.28 crore was allocated and Rs 6,801.30 crore was released under various sports development schemes of this ministry,” Thakur stated in a written reply to a query within the Lok Sabha.
