Tamil Nadu appoints Sulakshan Kulkarni as head coach

Former Mumbai cricketer and coach Sulakshan Kulkarni was on Thursday appointed as the pinnacle coach of the Tamil Nadu senior males’s crew for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons.

A press launch stated Kulkarni’s appointment was made on the suggestions of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association’s Cricket Advisory Committee assembly held right here on Thursday.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Kulkarni, 56, will take over from former Indian cricketer M Venkatraman, who was named coach in 2021.

Kulkarni, who led Mumbai to the Ranji title within the 2012-13 season, performed 65 first-class matches, scoring 3332 runs (together with six centuries) and taking 122 catches and 21 stumpings.

He has additionally coached the Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh groups and was earlier the batting coach with Nepal.
