Telangana Congress chief now says sorry after calling Shashi Tharoor a ‘donkey’

Telangana Congress chief Revanth Reddy has now apologized to the senior Congress chief “due to any hurt” following his remarks calling Shashi Tharoor a “donkey”. In return, Tharoor mentioned he had accepted Reddy’s apology and was prepared to maneuver on from “this unfortunate incident”.

“I have spoken to Shri @ShashiTharoor ji to convey that I withdraw my remarks and reiterate that I give the highest regard to my senior colleague,” Reddy tweeted on Thursday. “I am sorry for any hurt that my words may have caused. We share our faith in the values ​​and policies of the Congress Party.”

Responding to Reddy’s tweet, Tharoor mentioned that he obtained a “humble call” from the occasion chief apologizing for what he had mentioned. “I accept his expression of regret and am happy to have this unfortunate episode behind me,” he wrote.

According to a current media report, Reddy referred to as Tharoor a “donkey” and mentioned that he’s hopeful that he shall be expelled from the occasion. His remarks created a political storm, with a number of senior Congress leaders slamming Reddy for talking out towards his colleague.

Reddy had earlier denied the feedback and accused Telangana IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao of mendacity and tweeting “fake news”.

Condemning the feedback, senior Congress chief Manish Tewari had mentioned: “It would have been better if you (Reddy) had spoken to him if you had some misunderstanding about one of his alleged statements. Grace and Property demand that you take back your words.”
