The Bengaluru unit of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Friday arrested the managing director, affiliate vp and three different workers of a pharmaceutical firm in Telangana for allegedly re-exporting Tramadol to Pakistan. All 5 have been remanded in judicial custody.
NCB officers stated {that a} search was performed on Lucent Drugs Pvt Ltd, a pharma firm in Sangareddy district, which manufactures Integrated API and Intermediates, and can be one of many key exporters of Tramadol.
The NCB detected unauthorized re-export of Tramadol to Pakistan by the pharma firm to the tune of 25,000 kg in a 12 months and discrepancy pertaining to the declared inventory of Acetic Anhydride to the extent of round 3.85 kg.
“During the course of investigation, documentary and digital proof revealed that the corporate exported Tramadol to Denmark, Germany and Malaysia and re-exported the identical to Pakistan with none legitimate permission. The firm had suppressed the last word vacation spot ie Pakistan and re-export particulars,” an officer stated.
“They have obtained NOC for export of Tramadol to Denmark, Germany and Malaysia only and not to Pakistan. They have re-exported 25,000 kg Tramadol to Pakistan without any valid permission during the year 2021,” he added.
During bodily verification of declared inventory of Acetic Anhydride within the manufacturing facility premises, it was discovered that there’s a scarcity of three.85 kg of Acetic Anhydride as in comparison with the declared inventory.
There was discrepancy within the declared inventory within the legally necessary returns to the NCB and precise inventory of Acetic Anhydride, the officer added.
Notably, leisure use of excessive doses of Tramadol is related to an elevated threat of seizures or convulsion.
Acetic Anhydride, a precursor/managed substance, is a vital response agent for the unlawful manufacturing of heroin.
