Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday burdened on direct linking of farmers with the market and eradicating middlemen with the purpose of bettering the revenue of farmers.
Speaking on the inauguration of Odisha Agri Conclave 2021 by way of videoconferencing, Patnaik mentioned that the emphasis of the state authorities is on growing the revenue of farmers.
“We must respond to market dynamics. We need to streamline their connectivity with aggregators and processors to play the role of producers. We need to remove middlemen who do not add value to the supply chain,” Patnaik he mentioned.
Patnaik mentioned, “Farmers lay the foundation of the country’s economy… Development of agriculture and empowerment of farmers is our priority.”
