Three arrested for alleged homophobic chanting at Liverpool-Chelsea recreation

Merseyside Police mentioned on Tuesday that three folks had been arrested following studies of alleged homophobic chanting on the goalless draw between Liverpool and Chelsea at Anfield.

The males, aged 23, 37 and 49, had been arrested on suspicion of homophobic intentional harassment alarm and misery, police mentioned in an announcement to Reuters.

Three separate incidents resulted in two arrests exterior the stadium at Anfield Road and one inside the bottom.

“Merseyside Police will not tolerate hate crime of any kind, and we will bring to justice those found responsible for any abusive chanting,” mentioned Paul Sutcliffe, Superintendent of Sport and Match Commander.

“In this instance, if the three suspects are charged and found guilty of the offence, we will be seeking an order imposing a football ban on them.”
