Three arrested for promoting used surgical gloves in Delhi

Three folks from New Delhi’s Dwarka space have been arrested for allegedly shopping for used surgical gloves from the junk market and personal hospitals and washing them at their manufacturing facility.

Police have recovered round 848 kg of used gloves from them. Investigations have proven that they have been re-packing and promoting these gloves to make some fast cash amid the excessive demand for such protecting medical units as a result of Kovid-19 epidemic.

Those arrested have been recognized as Manish Kumar (30) and Arun Srinivasan (37) and Dinesh Kumar Rajput (28).

“On 25 May, police personnel at Dabri police station received information during the dharna checking that some people are running a factory where they are washing and selling used gloves. After getting more information about the case, a team led by SHO (Dabri) SS Sandhu conducted raids, ”mentioned a senior police officer.

“About a month and a half in the past, he arrange his manufacturing facility in two buildings in Dabri and Bindapur areas. When the second wave arrived in Delhi, there was an enormous demand for surgical gloves and so they took benefit of it.

During interrogation, the accused advised the police that they purchased used surgical gloves from hospitals and junk markets. “After re-packing them, they sold it to salons and local shops at cheaper rates than the market price,” the official mentioned.

A case has been registered towards the three below the related sections of the Indian Penal Code. However, he has been launched on bail, police mentioned.
