Trevor Bayliss leaves England, returns to Australia as coach

World Cup successful coach Trevor Bayliss is leaving England and can return house to take cost of Sydney Thunder for the following three Twenty20 Big Bash League seasons.

The 58-year-old Bayliss led England to the ODI Cricket World Cup at Lord’s in 2019 and received the Indian Premier League twice whereas accountable for Kolkata Knight Riders. He led the Sydney Sixers to the title within the inaugural season of the BBL a decade in the past.

The Thunder returned to the ultimate final season after lacking out on three consecutive years since their title win in 2016.

Bayliss, who coached New South Wales to the Sheffield Shield and the one-day title between 2004 and 2007, will substitute Shane Bond, who stepped down from the function in April for household causes.

“It’s great to be at home and get involved in New South Wales cricket,” Bayliss stated on Thursday. “Thunder has done well over the years … hopefully we can take a step or two forward this summer.”
