Triple amputee makes an attempt world file

Mark Ormrod MBE, a former Royal Marine from Plymouth who misplaced each his legs and his proper arm in a bomb blast in Afghanistan, has accomplished a 1km open water swim for charity.

Mr Ormrod hoped to interrupt the world file for the quickest triple amputee swim, and was ready for affirmation of the achievement.

He added that it “wasn’t too cold” and that he “enjoyed it”.
