‘Twitter is not a bar’: Jack Dorsey agrees with Musk choice to reverse Trump ban

Tesla CEO Elon Musk stated on Tuesday that he would reverse the ban on former US President Donald Trump whereas talking at a convention. Twitter founder Jack Dorsey appears to agree with this choice in a collection of tweets he posted as a reply to a different consumer. Trump was completely banned from the platform shortly after the January 6 assault on the United States Capitol.

Dan Primack, a journalist, tweeted saying that Dorsey agreed with Musk’s sentiment, together with a reminder that Dorsey was CEO of Twitter on the time. Dorsey replied to this tweet with an affirmation, “I do agree. There are exceptions (CSE, illegal behaviour, spam or network manipulation, etc), but generally permanent bans are a failure of ours and don’t work, which I wrote about here after the event (and called for a resilient social media protocol) ,” and added a hyperlink to a thread he had tweeted on January 2021, shortly after Trump’s ban from Twitter.

Primack then replied, asking Dorsey for clarification, since in response to him, the sooner thread made it sound like Dorsey agreed with the choice on the time. Dorsey then clarified by explaining the way it was a enterprise choice and stated that it mustn’t have been one.

Lance Ulanoff, one other journalist, replied evaluating Twitter to a bar or one other personal institution; asking Dorsey why it was not okay to ban somebody from a social media platform identical to it’s potential at personal institutions. Dorsey was fast to answer with a terse assertion, “twitter isnt a bar”.
