Two males accused of raping minor ladies had been shot by police once they allegedly tried to flee from custody, police mentioned on Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters, the police mentioned within the first incident, a 38-year-old man, accused of raping and murdering a 7-year-old woman, was killed after he sustained bullet wounds from police firing because the latter tried to restrain him when he fled police custody at Mazbat space of Udalguri district. On March 10, the minor was raped by the person and later a grievance was registered.
Udalguri Additional Superintendent of Police Bidyut Das Boro mentioned the accused was apprehended yesterday (Tuesday) from his hideout in an iron manufacturing facility close to Baihata. He was charged with rape, homicide and part 6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, the police mentioned.
According to police, the encounter occurred at 2:30 am on the intervening night time of Tuesday and Wednesday when the accused was being taken to the alleged crime scene.
“After confessing to his crime, he took the investigating officer involved to the crime scene. While returning, he tried to flee from the police jeep by injuring one constable. When he was ordered to cease, he didn’t pay heed to it. Police needed to resort to firing to cease him. He was injured and was shifted to the closest hospital the place he was declared introduced lifeless by the physician,” the officer mentioned.
In the same incident on Tuesday night time, police shot one other gangrape accused whereas he was allegedly making an attempt to flee from custody close to Guwahati when he was being taken to the crime scene for additional investigation.
Speaking to The Indian Express, Guwahati deputy commissioner of Police (West) Nabaneet Mahanta mentioned out of 5 accused individuals within the case, the prime accused was arrested on Tuesday.
On February 16, a 16-year-old woman was allegedly raped by the 2 accused close to her home. One of the accused individuals videographed the incident. Later, the accused requested the woman to return and meet them and guaranteed her that they might delete the video, when she was once more sexually assaulted by 5 folks. On March 8, a grievance was registered and 7 individuals associated to the case had been arrested. The prime accused was apprehended on Tuesday from Dampur in Kamrup district, police mentioned.
“He disclosed locations, where his other accomplices were hiding. When we went at one of the locations, he snatched a service pistol from a lady officer and tried to escape. When asked to stop, he fired at a lady police official, who sustained injuries. The police fired back in self defense in which the accused sustained injuries and was declared brought dead after we took him to a hospital,” the officer mentioned.

An official from the Guwahati Medical College mentioned that the rape accused was dropped at the hospital late night time yesterday (Tuesday) and was declared introduced lifeless. He had 4 damage marks on his physique…
