Two residents of Jharkhand had been arrested for allegedly committing fraud to the tune of Rs 74,980 by forgery on-line transactions. The accused have been recognized as 31-year-old Prabhakar and 21-year-old Ankit Kumar, each residents of Giridih district of Jharkhand.
The cyber cell of the UT Police recognized two folks from Jharkhand after the cash transaction. The complainant Dr Aruna Dewan was duped of Rs 74,980 in February 2020. He had instructed that fraudsters had referred to as him, claiming that he was provided to improve the KYC for his Paytm pockets. They requested him so as to add Re 1 to his Paytm pockets and as quickly as he added the cash, Rs 74,980 was withdrawn from his account by varied transactions.
Sources stated, “It took nearly a 12 months to determine and hint the identities of the 2 cybercriminals. More than two dozen laptop operators who paid on-line electrical energy payments of individuals in several components of Punjab had been questioned after which the identities of Prabhakar and Ankit Kumar had been established. As quickly as the girl physician filed the FIR, preliminary investigation revealed that Rs 74,980 was used for on-line cost of electrical energy payments to PSPCL. Computer operators traced. He admitted that he paid payments from particular accounts and obtained money from electrical energy customers. Later, he deposited the quantity in particular accounts which had hyperlinks with Prabhakar and Ankit Kumar. Both the accused are twelfth move.
Cyber Cell Inspector Hariom stated, “We have knowledgeable Jharkhand Police about each the accused. He was dropped at Chandigarh to affix the investigation and confronted with proof, following which he was arrested. We are probing his involvement in different circumstances.”
