Britain stated on Monday it and its allies blamed Chinese state-backed teams for “a pervasive pattern of hacking”, which included assaults on Microsoft Exchange servers.

The British Foreign Ministry stated the assaults occurred earlier this 12 months and affected a couple of million servers worldwide.

“The cyber attack on Microsoft Exchange Server by Chinese state-backed groups was a reckless but familiar practice,” British Foreign Minister Dominic Raab stated in a press release.

“The Chinese government must end this systematic cyber sabotage and if it does not, it can be held accountable.” The Foreign Office stated the assault was “highly likely to enable large-scale espionage.”

It stated Britain and its allies blamed the Chinese Ministry of State Security behind the hacking teams identified by safety specialists as “APT40” and “APT31”.
