UK-based EV maker Bedio acquires China’s Proteus from Evergrande’s auto unit

Evergrande buys Proteus which produces in-wheel motors from 2019

UK-based e-mobility agency Bedio on Thursday stated it has acquired Protein Electric from the automotive arm of China Evergrande Group.

Bedio Evergrande is shopping for protein from National Electric Vehicle Sweden, a unit of the New Energy Vehicle Group.

Evergrande purchased Protein, which manufactures in-wheel motors, in 2019.

Bedio didn’t disclose the monetary phrases of the deal, which was first reported by Bloomberg News.

“This acquisition ensures that we will be well-capitalized to meet the growing demand from existing and new customers,” stated Proteus Chief Executive Officer Andrew Whitehead.
