Union Budget 2022: National Highway community to be expanded to 25,000 km in 2022-23

In the continued Union Budget 2022, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman introduced that beneath the PM Gati Shakti Master Plan, the Government of India will increase the National Highway (NH) community to 25,000 km in 2022-23, with an allocation of Rs 20,000 crore. Same. The announcement is along with the Centre’s goal of hitting 2 lakh km of nationwide highways by 2025. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari had earlier unveiled plans to extend the NH community by over 25 per cent within the subsequent three years. At current, India has an NH community of greater than 1.40 lakh km.

PM Gati Shakti – National Master Plan for Multi-Modal Connectivity is basically a digital platform to deliver collectively 16 Ministries together with Railways and Roadways for built-in planning and coordinated implementation of infrastructure connectivity tasks. Multi-modal connectivity is claimed to supply built-in and seamless connectivity from one mode of transport to a different for the motion of individuals, items and providers. It will facilitate final mile connectivity of infrastructure and scale back journey time for individuals.
