Union Culture and Tourism Minister Prahlad Patel has accused Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of utilizing the nationwide flag as “decoration” throughout tv media addresses.

In a letter to Kejriwal, the Union Minister alleged that the flag seen behind the Chief Minister throughout press talks is a violation of the Flag Code.

“It appears that the national flag has been used for decoration. It appears that the white part in the center has been reduced and the green part has been added to it, which is not in conformity with the provisions of the Indian Flag Code specified by the Ministry of Home Affairs, ”Patel wrote within the letter.

He stated, “I do not expect such an act, knowingly or unknowingly, from the honorable Chief Minister.”

A replica of the letter has additionally been despatched to Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Anil Baijal.

Patel additionally demanded the Chief Minister’s consideration to Section 2 (ix) of the Prevention of Insult to National Honor Act, 1971, stating that the flag shouldn’t be used to embellish the speaker’s podium.

He stated that Section 2.2 (1) states that the standing of the flag ought to be respectable.

Patel wrote within the letter, “Being a resident of India and holding the post of a proud Chief Minister of a state, everyone expects you to maintain the honor and respect of the tricolor, a symbol of national pride.”
