UP: Arrested in Ballia homicide case, absconding for 16 years after leaping parole

A homicide convict, who was absconding for the final 16 years since he was granted parole in 2005, was arrested by the Ballia police. Anil Singh (50), a resident of Ballia, additionally had a reward of Rs 25,000 on his head.

Singh was arrested from the Gaighat Dakbungle space, which falls inside the limits of Haldi police station in Ballia.

“We arrested Anil Singh after a long chase. He was produced in a local court, which sent him to judicial custody,” stated Raj Kumar Singh, station home officer, Haldi police station.

He stated that in interrogation, Singh stated that after leaping parole, he went to a number of locations to evade arrest. He stated that he had lately returned to Ballia to satisfy a member of the family.

On Saturday, the police had obtained details about his going to his Ballia house. The police crew that reached the spot caught him.

Officials stated Singh, who was within the Border Security Force (BSF), was sentenced to life imprisonment for the homicide of his senior.

After spending practically 12 years in jail, he was launched on parole in October 2005. He was later lodged within the Varanasi Central Jail.

Upon his launch, Singh was by no means behind bars once more. After failing to hint his whereabouts, the police crew moved the courtroom in search of a warrant in opposition to him. A 12 months later, the courtroom declared him an absconder as he was lacking.
