UP ATS makes yet another arrest in faith conversion case

The newest arrest is of a Delhi-based man, who was nabbed from Noida on Saturday after it was discovered that he was in touch with others concerned in a conversion syndicate, the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) stated.

The accused Abdullah Omar Gautam, a resident of Delhi’s Jamia Nagar space, was in fixed contact with individuals who had been arrested earlier within the conversion case. He will distribute the cash obtained from overseas among the many converts,” the ATS stated in an announcement.

“He was linked to other accused including Jahangir Alam, Kausar Alam, Faraz Shah, and looked after the work of Al-Farukhi Madrasa and Masjid and ran the Islamic Dawa Center in Delhi, both managed by his father Maulvi Umar . Gautam,” the company stated.

Officials stated that up to now, Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested 16 folks, together with key accused Maulvi Umar Gautam, Kaleem Siddiqui, in reference to the case registered at Lucknow’s ATS police station.

He informed that about half a dozen accused are from the Maharashtra community of the syndicate.

According to the ATS, the checking account particulars of Abdullah Omar Gautam confirmed receipt of cash from international sources just like the accounts of his father Umar Gautam.

“Till now an amount of Rs 75 lakh was deposited in Abdullah’s accounts from various sources, out of which Rs 17 lakh had come from foreign places. This fund was used by him, his father and other associates to distribute it among the converts,” the ATS stated.

Officials stated the unlawful conversion syndicate being probed by the UP Police has hyperlinks in a number of states together with Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Delhi.

Officials stated the funds for the syndicate have been obtained from international nations together with the US, UK and Gulf nations by means of hawala and different unlawful means.
