UP: Three murders in Meerut in 24 hours

In Meerut, two individuals had been allegedly shot lifeless inside 24 hours and the third was lynched, police stated on Wednesday.

Two individuals have been arrested in reference to the dying of 82-year-old priest Yashpal Singh, whereas no arrests have been made within the different two murders to this point.

Unknown assailants shot lifeless Singh, the proprietor of the hospital and Tula bridge, when he was sleeping on Tuesday evening. Police stated Singh had gone to sleep within the premises of the weighbridge when the assailants fired at him twice.

“We have collected CCTV footage from the hospital and nearby places. Prima facie, it seems that commercial or personal enmity is behind the murder,” stated Amit Rai, deputy SP of Brahmapuri.

In one other incident, Chandra Pal (50), a temple priest in Badla Kaithwara village of Mundali space of ​​Meerut, was allegedly attacked with an iron rod on Tuesday night. His physique was discovered by the native individuals on Wednesday morning. Police stated that Pal used to devour alcohol each night.

“We suspect that a fight broke out when Pal was drinking with others and he was attacked with an iron rod. He died on the spot,” stated Deputy SP, Kithore, Brijesh Singh.

In the third incident, 50-year-old farmer Yashpal was allegedly shot lifeless over a property dispute in Kunda village of Meerut on Tuesday evening. SP (rural) Keshav Kumar stated, “No FIR has been registered but we have started investigation into the matter.”
