Thirty-eight-year-old Mamta had postponed her pilgrimage to the Vaishno Devi temple in Jammu and Kashmir final yr as a result of pandemic.

“Mamata and her son Aditya had gone for a pilgrimage on December 30. She wanted to visit the temple earlier this year, but then Kovid postponed her visit,” says 51-year-old Satbir. Everyone is in a state of shock.”

A housewife, Mamta lived together with her son and youthful daughter at Beri in Jhajjar district. Her husband Surinder was an electrician, and died 5 years in the past on account of well being issues.

Satbir says that Mamta was dwelling on a state pension of Rs 2,250 per thirty days and different relations helped her. “The extended family used to help her in managing the household expenses. The children are now orphans. While we will take care of them, we are hopeful that the government can give jobs to their children on compassionate grounds,” he says.

He says his final rites can be carried out on Sunday after reaching his hometown of Beri.
