Earth’s two closest neighbors – Venus and Mars – will come closest to one another subsequent week in a celestial occasion referred to as a ‘planetary conjunction’.

Easily seen with the bare eye and may solely be seen from Earth, conjunction happens when two planets look like coming nearer though they’re removed from one another.

The newest conjunction, which is due on July 13, will see Mars and Venus solely 0.5 levels aside (although that is far in precise distance). This sight will probably be seen in clear sky situations within the western sky or horizon shortly after sundown.

This time, on the evening of July 12, the Moon may even be inside about 4 levels of the 2 planets making the Moon a three-celestial-body conjunction.

Sky gazers and astronomy fans can begin observing the sky from Thursday and proceed until Tuesday to look at the strategy of Mars and Venus. Subsequent steady statement may even reveal the gap of those planets after July 13.

The city-based Inter University Center for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA) and the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IAA), Bengaluru have invited photographic entries for the occasion, the most effective of which will probably be printed by the institutes.
