Surat police commissioner Ajay Kumar Tomar has submitted the investigation report back to the state residence division over a video which purportedly exhibits an assistant commissioner of police, visitors division celebrating his birthday at a public place.
A couple of days again, a video surfaced on social media wherein Assistant Commissioner of Police, Traffic Department, AP Chauhan was seen celebrating his birthday by reducing a cake together with others on the principle highway in Delhi Gate space of ​​Surat metropolis amid restrictions. It has been imposed in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. After the video went viral, Tomar had requested Surat’s Deputy Commissioner of Police Prashant Sumbe to research the matter.
Sources within the Surat visitors division stated the statements of ACP Chauhan have been recorded, together with the statements of 4 others purportedly standing beside Chauhan within the video. DCP Prashant Sumbe submitted his investigation report back to the police commissioner on August 28.
Tomar stated, ‘The investigation report ready by the DCP has been despatched to the Home Department. Since Chauhan is an ACP rank officer, it’s the Home Department, which may take additional motion.
