Rehan Ahmed grew to become the youngest ever male Test cricketer for England when he made his debut for England in opposition to Pakistan in Karachi for the Third Test. It was former England captain Nasser Hussain who handed Ahmed his first England cap.
During the pre-match ceremony, Hussain gave an emotional speech, “This little material is a reward for all of the arduous work you’ve got already carried out and all of the sacrifices you’ve got made, and even everybody who introduced you right here, be it Nottinghamshire or Leicestershire.
“The pride in your heart this week watching your 18 year old son play cricket at the National Stadium, Karachi must be incredible.”

He continued, “It’s also a reward for the sacrifices your family made. It’s a story I know all too well, and I know what’s going on in your heart this week, old man.” Got to be proud, watching your 18 yr previous son enjoying cricket on the National Stadium in Karachi is incomparable. Many congratulations to your loved ones.”
Rehan’s father, Naeem Ahmed, himself a former cricketer, was born in Pakistan, the place he performed as a quick bowling all-rounder earlier than transferring to England.
On his son’s England debut, Graham mentioned, “At that moment, I didn’t know I would be on the field for this and standing with the players.”
He continued, “I thought he meant to be by my side when this happened, but wasn’t really in the crowd, so it was amazing when he took me there. It’s a moment I’ll never forget in my life.” I’ll always remember it. It was one of the best second I’ve ever had and I actually loved it. As a quick bowling membership cricket allrounder and certified cricket coach, he has inspired his son’s ardour for the sport as a lot as anybody Even dad and mom can, although he believes the leg-spinning ability got here naturally by arduous work.
