Congress chief Manish Tewari on Thursday claimed that at any time when India reveals restraint, Pakistan considers it an indication of weak spot.

However, he tried to downplay his views on the UPA’s motion as outlined in his new e book, saying, “It was about the perception that Pakistan had, not the UPA’s action to exercise restraint.”

Releasing Tiwari’s e book ’10 Flashpoints, 20 Saal’, former National Security Advisor Shivshankar Menon stated that China is India’s greatest problem at the moment. He stated that although he agrees with the broader emphasis of what Tiwari has stated, he disagrees with him on strategic points just like the response to the 26/11 terror assaults. “But, his final conclusion is worrying. He concludes that the nation today is less secure than it was before. It is not a happy conclusion. I wish he had said more on what is happening on the LAC, which is a lively issue. ,” stated the previous NSA.
