WPL public sale shall be held on February 13, 409 gamers shall be auctioned

The maiden Women’s Premier League public sale will see a complete of 409 cricketers bid for the likes of Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Alyssa Healy and Sophie Ecclestone, who place themselves within the highest base value bracket of Rs 50 lakh.

IPL chairman Arun Dhumal had instructed PTI on Monday that the whole 22 matches of the league can be held in Mumbai from March 4 to 26. The public sale will happen on February 13 in Mumbai.

Of the 409 gamers, 246 are Indians and 163 are foreigners, together with eight from affiliate international locations.
The complete capped gamers are 202, whereas 199 are uncapped and eight are from affiliate nations.

The 5 groups have a most of 90 slots out there, of which 30 are for abroad gamers.

Twenty-four gamers have positioned themselves within the base value bracket of Rs 50 lakh. There are 30 gamers within the public sale checklist with a base value of Rs 40 lakh.

“A total of 1525 players registered for the inaugural Women’s Premier League Player Auction and the final list has been cut down to 409 players.” With the sale of 5 groups for Rs 4669.99 crore and media rights to BCCI for Rs 951 crore, WPL is the second largest T20 league on the earth after the Indian Premier League.

Apart from the three IPL crew house owners – Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals – Capri Global Holdings (Lucknow) and Adani Sportsline have purchased 5 franchises.
