Xbox chief evaluates console maker’s relationship with embattled Activision

Xbox Chief Phil Spencer is evaluating its relationship with Activision Blizzard Inc., the Microsoft-owned gaming console maker confirmed Thursday amid allegations of sexual misconduct and equal pay violations towards the video-game writer.

Bloomberg first reported the information Thursday, citing an e mail despatched to staff. Spencer advised staff that the Xbox gaming management group at Activision was “disturbed and deeply disturbed by the horrific incidents and actions,” the report mentioned.

“The leadership at Xbox and Microsoft stands with our teams and supports them in creating a safer environment for all,” Spencer mentioned in a press release. An Activision spokesperson mentioned the corporate is in talks with its companions. The launch and exit of high executives has been delayed due to allegations towards the corporate recognized for its video-game titles together with “Call of Duty” and “Diablo.”

Earlier this week, staff staged a walkout following a report that the corporate’s chief govt was conscious of beforehand recognized sexual harassment and assault allegations.
