Former West Indies all-rounder Ottis Gibson was on Wednesday appointed as head coach of English cricket crew Yorkshire, with the membership saying his arrival would “help foster a culture of inclusiveness” amid the racism scandal.
Yorkshire’s complete teaching workers left the membership final month after a report discovered former participant Azim Rafiq was the sufferer of “racial harassment and bullying”.

The appointment of Gibson, who’s Black, comes amid a change in Yorkshire’s former England pacer Darren Gough as interim managing director of cricket. Gibson will report back to Gough.
Gibson has beforehand served as head coach for West Indies and South Africa, and has served as a bowling coach for England.
Kamlesh Patel, who was appointed because the membership’s president in November, stated Gibson has proven his “character and our commitment to buy into the process that we are doing at Yorkshire County Cricket Club.”
“He is someone I know who will encourage dialogue and help foster a culture of inclusion in the club,” Patel stated.
Gibson will formally start work at England’s most profitable county facet on the finish of February, when his partnership with Pakistan Super League facet Multan Sultans ends.
