Chennai Super Kings (SCK) captain MS Dhoni welcomes his potential successor Ben Stokes forward of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 first match towards Gujarat Titans on the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Dhoni welcomed all the brand new gamers within the Chennai workforce and mentioned, “I would like to welcome all the new players.”
Welcoming the England all-rounder, he mentioned, “You are not new but new to us.”
Chennai Super Kings purchased Ben Stokes for Rs 16.25 crore and the all-rounder might take over the reigns from MS Dhoni.
IPL mini public sale workforce franchise CEO Kasi Viswanathan has mentioned that MS Dhoni is completely happy to have Ben Stokes in CSK.
“Very excited to get Stokes and we were lucky too because he came in at the end. We wanted an all-rounder and MS was very happy that we got Stokes,” Kasi Viswanathan had mentioned after the public sale.
He had mentioned, “Captaincy is an option, but Dhoni will take that decision with time.”
