The Indian Cricket Board has confirmed that the 2021 T20 World Cup will probably be performed within the UAE and Oman in October and November. In official emails to its affiliated models, the board’s chairman Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah knowledgeable that the choice was made as a consequence of considerations over the third wave of the pandemic.
“It was not an easy decision and we pondered over it for months, constantly tracking the COVID situation, however, due to the second wave causing such devastation, the decision ultimately boiled down to safety and wellbeing. Although vaccination is progressing at an alarming pace in the country, there are reports of a third wave and various forms, which we cannot ignore,” Ganguly wrote in his electronic mail.

The board is but to announce the schedule of the suspended Indian Premier League, whereas it’s going to chalk out the schedule for the T20 World Cup in session with the International Cricket Council.
